Nursery Assistant

A nursery in Manchester is currently looking for a full-time teaching assistant to start as soon as possible. The role will include working with small groups that include some SEN children to help with development and progression into primary education. The school has specific services for children with additional needs to ensure they have a positive learning environment that supports the different needs they have.

Role and responsibilities

• Working within the classroom with a small group of children to support them in their learning and complete activities with them
• Helping with behaviour management and promoting respectful behaviour
• Working alongside teachers to provide a safe space for children
• Providing room leads with support in language development and activities to enhance children’s learning and understanding

To be considered for this role you should:

• Have experience working with children in early years settings
• Have experience working with children with additional needs in a school setting
• Have excellent understanding of learning and development, and knowledge of the curriculum used to build language in children
• Have an enhanced child DBS on the update service (can be applied for through Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
