MLD 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

We are currently seeking SEN 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to work in a specialist MLD provision based in central Southampton.
The school has an outstanding ethos and is passionate about the the development of pupils, "working together to encourage, inspire, and develop confidence in our young people in a support learning environment." The school caters for upwards of 200 students across 3 sites, specifically focused to a number of complex Learning Difficulties including Autism, MLD and Speech and Language Difficulties.
Requirements of the applicants:
Essential
- Calm and nurturing personality
- Be comfortable with aspects of personal care
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- Effective time management
- A willingness to undertake further training
Desirable
- Additional training, including: Makaton, Moving and Handling and First Aids
- Experience working on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with individuals with complex SEN
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
About the role:
- Salary: Minimum of £9 per hour
- 8:30 - 3.30
- Monday - Friday
