Midday Supervisory Assistant

About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and physical disabilities. Your key responsibilities will be carrying out lessons in the absence of full-time staff and to ensure that students receive high level learning to achieve their goals. This is an ideal role for those who are a very experienced teaching assistant, a youth support worker/ leader or a sports coach as these leadership skills really come into play
Key Responsibilities:
- Help to support lunchtime activities, which involves personal care, feeding, toileting, and playing with students during 11am - 3pm
- Encouraging independence and promoting positive behaviour
- Working collaboratively with the wider staff team and families
- Encourage pupils to progress in areas such as communication, independence, wellbeing, movement, cognition and learning
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school, care, or support setting) NOT ESSENTIAL
- Comfortable and confident in supporting personal care
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable students
- Enhanced Child only DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
- Availability for full-time work, Monday to Friday, term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
