Do you have experience in building relationships with young adults aged 11 – 16 in a school or similar setting?
If you are experienced in supporting disengaged young people with school life and able to work with students who have behavioural issues, then please see below for an ideal role as a Behaviour Mentor at a secondary school in the Warrington area.
Working with this secondary school in the heart of Warrington; they are looking to recruit a Behaviour Mentor to start with them either during this half term or from Easter. The successful Behaviour Mentor will be working with students who are at risk of exclusion and require support on a 1 to 1 basis. Any previous experience of working with hard to reach students aged 11 – 16 would be highly beneficial. These students have persistent absenteeism so engaging with them is imperative to ensure they attend school.
The school is situated in the heart of Warrington making it very easy to access and as a result has a diverse range of students that attend the school. Students are from all backgrounds and abilities and being able to support students of any background is an ideal asset for the successful Behaviour Mentor to have. You will be working with a very small selection of students, often 1:1 building a relationship and engaging in a fun and interesting way. Any relevant experience will be highly beneficial.
Highlights of the Behaviour Mentor position:
- Pay ranging between GBP290 - GBP315 per week depending on experience
- Behaviour Mentor required on a full time basis from March/April 2020
- Work and assist at a highly supportive, inclusive secondary school
- Situated in the central Warrington area; accessible via train and regular buses
- Short walk from the local central train station
- Work with specific student(s) in building a relationship and engaging in school life
The school is housed in a very large grandiose building in pleasant surroundings with fantastic facilities and has a positive family feel to it. Students in the local area are diverse coming from a range of backgrounds and cultures. The school has a comprehensive and well integrated behaviour policy which all students understand; setting a certain level of expectation. The successful Behaviour Mentor will therefore have the benefit of this policy and be supported throughout their work at this school.
