A Secondary Academy in North Leeds, West Yorkshire, are currently seeking an Maths Tutor to help support the progression of their students. The role is flexible and can run on a part-time basis and is part of Teaching Personnel’s ‘Progress Maths’ package. The school’s Maths department organises pupils, one or two at a time, to attend one of five hourly tuition sessions held in a suitable room on school premises during the course of a school day. Finally, at the end of each day you would discuss specific pupil progress with the Maths teachers. The role is suitable for graduates of Maths, or other related subjects perhaps looking to go into teaching in the future, or even qualified teachers of Maths looking to take a step back from full class teaching whilst still having the opportunity to use your subject knowledge and expertise.

The school itself has made excellent progress in terms of exam results over the past 5 years and are looking for an enthusiastic tutor to join their intervention team. If you are traveling by car, the school is just 5 minutes walk from a local bus stop and around a 15-20 minute drive from central Leeds and easily accessible from surrounding areas.

Essential Qualities:

? Strong subject knowledge in Maths

? Experience of working with young people (both within and/or outside of schools)

? A drive to develop achievement within English GCSE classes

? Enthusiasm for your subject

? A creative and engaging approach to lessons/activities
