We are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher for a full time position for a secondary school in Weymouth.

The Role:

  • Full time- September start
  • To teach Mathematics and Numeracy at KS3 and KS4.
  • To develop and organise appropriate plans, materials and schemes of work to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning and the well being of staff and students.
  • To evaluate the standards of student's achievements and set targets for improvement
  • To prepare students for examinations

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan, prepare and teach throughout the school, ensuring effective continuity and progression for all students of all abilities.
  • Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, and of groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, and best use is made of teaching time
  • Establish and maintain a purposeful working atmosphere and set high expectations for student's behaviour
  • Undertake pastoral and tutorial responsibilities for a group/class of students
  • Ensure that support for the behaviour management of students is consistent with the school's policies and programmes, including policies for positive handling

You should:

  • Be educated to a degree level, hold a teaching qualification and hold QTS.

  • Have experience of teaching the UK curriculum, ideally to Key Stage 5 and have the ability to plan and deliver lessons to ensure excellent learning progression takes place in all areas.

  • Can assess and mark work, monitor pupils' progression and raise attainment levels effectively.

  • Be a passionate and innovative Teacher of Maths.
