Are you a qualified Maths teacher looking to secure long term work from February half term teaching Mathematics?
* 9 month maternity cover initially teaching Mathematics
* February half term start date or sooner for suitable Maths teacher
* Pay in line with teaching scale point (£110 - £150 per day)
* Well facilitated secondary school in Oldham, bordering Rochdale
* Join supportive Maths faculty with experienced Head of Department
Situated on the border of Royton and Shaw, our client school is a large oversubscribed secondary comprehensive which is well regarded in the local community. The school has currently 1200+ students enrol across 5 year groups, with excellent links to local colleges. The school has recently undergone a change in leadership, with the newly appointed Head immediately making changes in teaching and learning standards, which have already improved results and progress being made across Key Stage 3 and 4.
The position as a Maths teacher will consist of teaching a predominantly Key Stage 3 timetable, teaching Maths to mixed ability groups in Year 7 and middle ability students in Year 8 and 9, along with sharing a Year 10 group preparing for their GCSE examinations. As the position will continue in to the next academic year, the school have expectations that the incoming member of staff will contribute to the planning and marking of schemes of work, as well as supporting the department in the preparation for end of year examinations.
The successful applicant for this post as a Maths teacher will have;
* UK QTS and completed a teacher training programme in Mathematics
* Previous experience teaching Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and GCSE
* The ability to effectively manage behaviour and ensure progress across age and ability range
