Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an experienced Maths Teacher to take on a long-term contract working with a Year 10 class at an outstanding secondary school in Haringey, north London starting in September.

The school are looking for someone who holds qualified teacher status (QTS) and has at least three years of experience teaching GCSE Maths to students in Key Stage 4 and 5 - ideally up to A Level.

With over a thousand pupils on roll, the school have reached out to us to support them with their vast needs for reliable and consistent teaching professionals who have excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to respond well to tricky scenarios. The school prioritise their staff and will support the suitable candidate with any necessary assistance required.

This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals looking for the next step in their career who are not necessarily looking for a permanent commitment.

The role will specifically involve teaching Maths to year groups ten and eleven to support the students with their GCSE studies and preparation for sixth form or college. Whilst experience teaching GCSE Maths is essential, the school would also be willing to consider candidates who specialise in lower key stages.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • Have extensive experience teaching Maths up to GCSE level (Ideally A Level)
  • Be passionate about working with children
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Be able to manage and oversee the progress of up to thirty students per class on a daily basis
  • Hold or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
