Teacher of Maths – Experienced Specialist (Full Time)

Location: Dorset (Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch & surrounding areas)
Contract: Permanent
Phase: Middle School (KS2–KS3)

We are working closely with a number of welcoming and values-led middle schools across Dorset who are seeking an experienced Teacher of Maths to join their teams on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management to deliver high-impact Maths teaching during this crucial stage of pupils’ learning.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, building confidence and secure mathematical understanding.

  • Use assessment and pupil data to plan effective lessons, interventions and stretch opportunities for mixed-ability learners.

  • Support pupils’ transition from primary to secondary-style learning, helping them develop independence and resilience.

  • Create a calm, positive and purposeful classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and effort.

  • Contribute to departmental planning, whole-school numeracy strategies and collaborative working.

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) with proven experience teaching Mathematics.

  • Be confident teaching across upper KS2 and KS3.

  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils.

  • Deliver consistently high-quality lessons that support, challenge and engage learners.

  • Use a range of strategies to monitor progress, close gaps and raise attainment.

  • Be reflective, collaborative and committed to ongoing professional development.
