Are you looking for a part time Mathematics teaching role starting from the beginning of the new academic year?

A secondary school in Altrincham is looking for a Mathematics teacher to join their Mathematics department for a term in the first instance, on a part time basis fulfilling a 3 or 4 day per week role. Being required on a part time basis, the successful Maths teacher will be teaching primarily at KS3 with some year 9 and 10 classes. The timetable is still being finalised as a result of new Government guidance but this is planned to be split all ability levels. Students are split into 3 ability cohorts with top set, middle and bottom set students. If you have a particular specialism, then please make this known on your application as there is room for manoeuvre in the timetable as it stands.

Highlights of this Mathematics teaching position:

• Pay will be dependent upon payscale and calculated on a pro rata basis with the opportunity to earn up to GBP2500 per month

• 1 term’s Maths teaching position in the first instance with the school looking to advertise for January but opportunity for the successful Maths teacher to take on the role on a permanent basis

They are therefore expecting a Maths teacher who fully immerses themselves in school life, willing to take on all additional responsibility including planning, marking and all parents’ evenings. There is also a planned school trip in the summer term which the successfully appointed Mathematician will have a chance to attend.

The school’s SLT has been praised as highly supportive with the Head of Mathematics being in the position for over 10 years. The department is flourishing, with staff retention across the entire school at an all time high.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
