Maths intervention support teaching assistant

Job description

Teaching personnel is working with a Manchester school in the Wythenshawe region to recruit a KS2 intervention maths support teacher. The role is a temporary position but could offer the opportunity of a permanent role for the following academic year.

  • The role pays £8.41 - £12 an hour depending on experience
  • SATs support
  • Working with small groups

The school has been rated "good" by Ofsted in the most previous report and is now looking to better the school and the students by offering intervention classes for pupils.

The Manchester school is looking for someone that can help out with pupils struggling with the lead up to their SATs. The role would involve supporting pupils with Maths by taking the pupils into smaller grouped classes and helping them develop these skills. The class will involve around 10 pupils from the Year 6 class.

Having previous experience with SATs is desirable but not entirely necessary.

Being a practising Catholic or holding a Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) would be of preference for the school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
