Are you a Maths graduate with experience tutoring secondary aged students? Are you an aspiring Maths teacher looking to enhance your experience prior to starting you PGCE?

If so, our client secondary school in Rochdale is currently seeking a Maths graduate to join their Maths department on a full time basis from February half term until the end of the academic year.

  • Full time Maths Graduate position, starting in February
  • Get paid up to £65 a day dependant on your previous experience
  • Develop an understanding of how to support students learning , prior to starting a teacher training programme
  • Large modern new building with on-site care park and excellent facilities

Based in Rochdale near the town centre our client secondary school is easily accessible via the A627 road the school is easily accessible via the surrounding areas Manchester city centre, Oldham and Bury. This is a larger than average mixed 11-16 secondary schools with over 1300 student's currently on roll and has been heavily oversubscribed for many years. The school is committed to achieving the highest attainment and social standards for students which is reflected in the high results achieved with 75% of students achieving 5 A*-C grades across all subjects.

The incoming Maths Graduate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering learning activities to assist with closing the gap
  • Supporting students who have not yet met their targets grades in Maths
  • Building report with students to keep them engaged and motivated
  • Liaising with the Head of Maths on students progress and performance
  • Covering lessons in the Maths department in the absence of the classroom teacher

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
