Maths Cover Supervisor

Location: Oldbury 

Start Date: Autumn Term 2025 

Salary: £90-£150 (dependent on experience) 


 

About the role:

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Maths Cover Supervisor to work in one of our partner secondary schools in the Oldbury area. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes, supporting students’ learning and ensuring a positive and focused classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for education and a proactive approach to helping students achieve their potential. Previous experience in a classroom or working with secondary-aged students is desirable. 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and support students in the classroom to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Assist students with understanding and completing lesson tasks.

  • Maintain classroom behaviour and encourage engagement and participation.

  • Follow lesson plans and school guidelines to support teaching staff.

  • Report on student progress, behaviour and any issues to the relevant teaching staff.

  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

  • Support the wider school community through participation in activities as required.

Role Requirements: 

  • Experience working with secondary school students is desirable not essential.

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Confident and professional approach to supervising and supporting students.

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectively.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
