Humanities Cover Supervisor

Location: Walsall, Secondary Schools

Start Date: Autumn Term 2025 

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) 


 

About the role: 

We are looking for a reliable, confident and enthusiastic Humanities Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Walsall. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, have a strong interest in humanities subjects (history, geography, religious education) and can support pupils in maintaining their learning.

Key Responsibilites: 

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across humanities subjects at KS3 and KS4.

  • Guide and support students with their learning to ensure continuity in the classroom.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive and focused learning environment.

  • Support pupils in understanding lesson content and encourage active participation.

  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour and any issues arising.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school as needed.

Key Requirements: 

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable.

  • A strong interest or background in humanities subjects.

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
