Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Salford that is seeking to appoint a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 1 from October 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to make a positive impact on young learners during the early stages of their education. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to help create a supportive, engaging, and nurturing environment where every child can flourish.

The Role

As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development, helping to build the foundations for future learning and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across Key Stage 1, working with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum.
• Support the development of early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND and EAL.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a productive classroom atmosphere.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support children's progress and wellbeing.
• Monitor pupil engagement and progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be committed to helping young children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Requirements

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 1.
• A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
• Confidence supporting early reading, writing, and mathematics development.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
