Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioners to work in a range of nursery settings across the Birmingham district. This is an exciting opportunity for nurturing individuals who are passionate about supporting the development of young children during their most formative years.

About the Role
Nurseries across Birmingham are looking to appoint dedicated professionals who can bring positivity, energy, and expertise to their early years teams. You’ll be supporting children aged 0-5, helping to facilitate both play-based and structured learning while meeting their emotional and physical care needs. These roles run throughout the summer break- therefore you must be availabel thrughout July and August.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Delivering age-appropriate learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Observing and assessing children's development, reporting key progress to senior staff and parents
- Assisting with personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene
- Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
- Working collaboratively with a team of early years professionals to support each child’s development and wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years Education or as a Teaching Assistant (minimum requirement is an L2 Early Years Practitioner with evidence/reference from placements )
- Have experience as a Room Leader or in a similar leadership role (preferred but not essential)
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for child development and early learning
- Be comfortable with the personal care aspects of working with young children
- Act as a positive role model, promoting social skills, kindness, and independence
- Possess excellent teamwork and communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents
- Be proactive, patient, and emotionally resilient when working with young children

Nurseries particularly value consistency and familiarity in their staffing to help build trust and comfort for young learners. Therefore, this position is best suited to individuals seeking additional working hours throughout the summer break in a nurturing environment.
Additional Notes:
- While prior experience working in a nursery is highly desirable, we are also looking for those with experience in EYFS/ reception and KS1 roles.
- All candidates will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and must be eligible to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
