We require a Learning Support Teaching Assistant to join our large client school in Rochdale for a full time, long term position.

  • Full time position as a Learning Support Teaching Assistant
  • Working at a large secondary school in Rochdale
  • Get paid a weekly wage up to £350 a day, dependent on experience

You will be working at a large secondary school in Rochdale with strong links to the local community and an increasingly growing reputation for delivering high results, as well as providing a caring and supportive learning and working environment. The school is located close to major public transport links to the city centre, so is easily assessable by both people with their own transport and those limited to public transport. The schools recent Ofsted support shows the SLT lead from the front and are fully supportive in terms of development of not only their pupils but also their staff.

This would be an excellent opportunity for anybody with previous experience in a Learning Support Teaching Assistant type position who are seeking a new challenge this academic year in a supportive working environment where you can make a real difference in the development of pupils at a very important stage of their learning journey. We would also consider applicants from those with similar transferable experience, for example those who have supported young people in a different capacity, such as those who have worked as a youth worker, sports coach or any similar tutoring type role. This would also be a great way for a recent graduate to gain experience in a secondary school before considering on a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme.

As a Learning Support Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work alongside a number of pupils who have been identified as needing additional support to access the curriculum, supporting them on both a 1:1 basis within the classroom, as well as running small group workshops in your specialist subject area. You will be supporting pupils who may have an ECH plan or require additional support whether this is for any learning, SEN, behaviour or SEMH related needs.
