Position: Learning Support Assistant
Pay: (£85 - £100 per day)
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: June 2024
Nestled in the heart of Durham, our client Secondary school is easily accessible via major routes like the A1/A1(M) or the A68. Don't fret if you don't drive – there are plenty of public transport links from all corners of The North East.
Requirements:
- Great at managing behaviour in both 1:1 and group settings.
- Hold a child-only DBS on the update service or be ready to apply for one (we'll guide you through it during registration).
- Provide two professional references from your recent roles.
- Previous experience supporting young people with additional learning needs or SEN is desirable but not required.
Job Brief:
- Support students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of abilities and SEMH needs.
- Perfect opportunity to bolster your PGCE application or dive into Educational Psychology.
- Dive into a world of extracurricular activities, nurturing students both in and out of the classroom.
- Switch it up with a mix of classroom, 1:1, and small group settings.
- Work closely with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure the best support for every child.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
