Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School in Altrincham

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant on a full-time temporary basis from January until the end of the academic year. (There may also be the option to extend this contract into the new academic year and even become a permanent member of staff – TBD). The school is an Ofsted Outstanding 11-18 Secondary school based in Altrincham with excellent SEN provisions – ensuring that each student’s needs are catered to, to best support them within their education. The school are committed to also ensuring that each member of staff is fully supported and have all the tools they require to best influence the student’s development. They have a very well-funded provision within school and are continuing to recruit support assistant’s year on year.

The role will involve you supporting students in either a 1:1 or small group setting across a range of subjects depending on their needs/your specialism’s, with students ranging across KS3 and KS4. The school often like to wait until they have met the Support Assistant before they pair TA and student together so that they can make the best match as possible.

You will be a patient and empathetic person who prides themselves on being kind and approachable. You will have high numeracy and literacy skills and will ideally have experience within an LSA/TA role prior to this, or will at least have relatable experience from a similar role working with children in a UK secondary school setting that would provide you with transferrable skills.

  • Pay: £1,540 - £1,700 per month depending on experience
  • School day: 08:30am – 3:30pm (6.5 hours with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • Full-Time Monday – Friday
  • January until July (with possibility of extending on beyond this)
  • Ofsted Outstanding School with well funded provision
  • Secondary School in Altrincham close to public transport

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
