Graduate Teaching Assistant – September 2025
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant client secondary school in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who have a specialism subject that they are passionate about and who are looking to gain valuable experience in a supportive learning environment. You will work closely with talented teaching staff to support students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
The school is situated in the heart of Stockport, only a 10-minute walk from the nearest public transport links (including Bus and Tram stops) but also has a large onsite car park for members of staff with a vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students requiring additional assistance with their academic work.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities to small groups of students.
- Mark and provide constructive feedback on students’ work to enhance their understanding.
- Support students with homework and revision, both individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff members to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Requirements:
- A degree in any subject area is essential.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Tutor in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A genuine enthusiasm for supporting students in their learning journey.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
