Role: Learning Mentor
Location: Longwell
Salary: GBP60 - 70 per day
The Head Teacher of a fantastic Primary school in the Longwell Green area is seeking a learning mentor for a September start with the likelihood that it will continue temporary to permanent. This school requires a learning mentor who has experience supporting within the primary age range. This is a really brilliant school is based in an easily accessible location by car as well as through a range of public transport links.
As a learning mentor you will be acting as a general classroom assistant supporting the class teacher with the day-to-day activities, preparing the classroom and resources. You will also be supporting across all aspects of the curriculum helping with academic support to raise levels of attainment; therefore, any experience within a classroom is desired. This role requires a learning mentor who is academically strong in both literacy and mathematics and can effectively support all areas of the curriculum. You will be working with small groups as well with individual students who may be disengaged and are falling behind. Some of the classes you will be supporting can be hyperactive; therefore a learning mentor who has good behaviour management or any experience with young people who might be quite challenging would be ideal.
