Learning and Behaviour mentor

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and self motivated Learning and Behaviour mentor who is able to use their initiative to provide on going support for pupils.

I am working with a large 3 form entry school in the North London area. They are committed to working with parents to ensure the best for all our pupils. Working together they build each child's confidence by creating a happy atmosphere, sharing high expectations and ensuring everyone achieves their full potential, both academically and personally. Children learn best when they feel safe to take on challenges, are interested and feel valued

The Role

You will work out and provide the best support possible to those who need it as well as work 1:1 with pupils. A Behaviour Mentor will be expected to be willing to take initiative and provide small group sessions outside the classroom. You may also have to supervise pupils out of lessons, before and after school and at lunchtimes.

Ideal candidate

- Have experience in supporting young people preferably in an educational setting.

- Ability to build and maintain solid relationships with staff and students

- Excellent communication and organisational skills

- Establishing good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.

- Encouraging students to interact with others and engaging in activities led by the teacher.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
