LAC Mentor

Full time Looked After Child (LAC) Mentor required from September 2019 initially for one term for a renowned Salford based Secondary school. The SENCO wishes to appoint a empathetic, resilient and experienced LAC mentor to work with identified pupils across Key Stages 3 & 4, due to a full restructure within the support provisions in place at school.

• Full time LAC Mentor required from September 2019.
• Must have previous experience working within similar capacity or within an Education capacity to be considered due o the sensitive nature of the role.
• Any additional experience working with Special Educational Needs, Moderate/Severe Learning Difficulties or SEMH is highly advantageous.
• Located in Salford, accessible via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road).
• Earn up to £30 per hour, depending on previous experience/ qualifications and responsibilities.

The large Secondary school is oversubscribed with over 1200 pupils currently on roll. The school services the local catchment area, and has significantly more pupils receiving Pupil Premium funding throughout their education. The successful LAC Mentor will work with a range of pupils across the Key Stages who have been identified supporting on a small groups and a 1:1 basis to support with teaching and learning and overcoming any barriers.

Located at the heart of Salford, our client Secondary school can be accessed via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road). For non-drivers, there are a number of public transportation links from neighbouring areas; Bury, Bolton, Trafford and Wigan.
