Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a large 2 form entry Primary School (BB12) in the heart of Burnley who are hoping to use their 'Pupil Premium money' to employ a teaching assistant to work alongside pupils in Year 6. The pupils are due to complete their SATS tests in the next month, the role is to commence from after the May half term so the majority of the work will be supporting the pupils during their last few months within Primary school. Within the new academic year, you will be expected to work with & support the Year 5 cohort when they progress to Year 6. The Headteacher is looking for an experienced enthusiastic practitioner to work alongside a group of lower attaining pupils in the year 6 class. The role will involve delivering planned Intervention sessions in Maths & English in a morning and then general support in an afternoon across a number of KS2 year groups. The funding will stretch until February 2020 with the possibility of going onto a school contract depending on feedback/performance & availability.
I have spoken directly with the Headteacher who is very approachable and has strong links with other schools in Burnley and the surrounding areas. If you have experience as a general Teaching Assistant specifically working with children in KS2 we want to hear from you! Due to the reputation of the school in the area this is an excellent opportunity and this school would look excellent on your CV!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are keen to secure a role from May 2019, rates of pay are competitive and start at £9.50 per hour.
