Job Title: ADHD Support Assistant

Location: WF5 (Upper Key Stage 2 at a School)

We are currently seeking a dedicated ADHD Support Assistant to work alongside a child in Upper Key Stage 2 at a school located in WF5. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the academic and personal development of a child with ADHD, helping them to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the child with ADHD, both in the classroom and during other school activities.
  • Assist the child in staying focused, organized, and engaged in learning tasks.
  • Implement strategies and interventions designed to support the child's specific needs related to ADHD.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive environment for the child.
  • Monitor the child's progress and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Encourage positive behavior and social skills development.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere where the child feels supported and valued.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ADHD or similar neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ADHD and familiarity with effective strategies for supporting children with this condition.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and adults alike.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to working with children facing challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the child and the school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, psychology, or a related field would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
