KS1 Teacher- Halliwell (Bolton) (BL1)

Teaching personnel are working with a local school in the Halliwell area of Bolton and we are currently on the lookout for a positive and resilient KS1 class teacher. This wonderful opportunity has surfaced for a qualified primary teacher looking for a full-time, fixed-term position, starting after in September 2021 until the February half-term, with the potential opportunity of becoming a permanent member of staff.

The is a fairly small school with around 300 pupils and a large population of SEND, who are supported in-class by specialist teaching assistants. The school was graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted in 2016, with some areas rated Outstanding such as the early years provision. Every pupil and member of staff feels valued in this Christian school and has the opportunity to develop their strengths and weakness.

The main objectives of the role include:

  • to create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to learning.
  • to plan and prepare lessons to deliver the curriculum ensuring breadth and balance in all subjects.
  • to deliver lessons with clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
  • to maintain good order and discipline among the pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.
  • to organise and manage groups or individual pupils ensuring differentiation of learning needs, reflecting all abilities.
  • to plan opportunities to develop the social, emotional and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.
  • Experience planning, delivering, and assessing Phonics across KS1 is highly desirable

The school is located in Halliwell, which is just outside of Bolton Town Centre and 1.5 miles from the Bolton Interchange making it easily accessible by public transport. Also, the school has on-site parking and is a short distant from the A666 just off Blackburn road.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
