Role: KS1 Supply Teacher

Schedule: Full Time

Location: Halewood (L25)

Start Date: October 2025

Pay Rate: £120-£232.56 per day (depending on experience)

 

 

Located in the heart of Halewood, this is a welcoming school that caters to children aged 3–11. Part of the Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust, the school is rated "Good" by Ofsted and is well known for its nurturing ethos and inclusive Christian values. Pupils are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a safe and supportive environment. One of the school’s standout features is its unique “Grow to Learn” outdoor education programme, which provides pupils with enriching opportunities to engage with nature through gardening, forest school-style activities, and environmental learning. Staff work collaboratively to create a curriculum that is broad, balanced, and designed to support the whole child.

As a KS1 Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to Year 1 or Year 2 pupils, covering for staff absence or short-term vacancies. You will be expected to follow the school’s schemes of work and maintain high standards of teaching and learning in line with school policies. A key part of the role will be delivering daily phonics sessions and ensuring all children make progress in core subjects, while also supporting their social and emotional development. You will manage behaviour in line with the school’s positive behaviour policy and be confident in creating a calm, focused learning environment.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1, preferably in Year 1 or Year 2
  • A sound knowledge of the KS1 national curriculum and phonics instruction
  • Strong behaviour management skills and classroom presence
  • The ability to differentiate lessons to support children of varying abilities, including those with SEND

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
