KS1 teacher

Teaching Personnel are excited to present an opportunity for a Class Teacher to join a partner Infant School from September 2020. This three-form entry infant school is set within beautiful grounds in Kilburn not far from Kilburn Park Station (Bakerloo Line). The school is surrounded by large grounds and they make good use of the green space with outside learning, including Forest School sessions. The school was graded ‘Outstanding’ in 2014 and has been subsequently graded outstanding in accredited challenge partner reviews. The school joined a multi-academy trust in 2017 and now benefits from a number of additional training programmes including the Outstanding Teacher Programme and Outstanding Leadership in Education.

The school believes every child is different and deserves the opportunity to be happy, secure and successful. They have high expectations of achievement and behaviour and they are committed to ensuring all children can achieve their best regardless of background or starting point. There is close co-operation between parents, children and the school with the understanding this allows for the best progress and educational outcomes for the pupils. The close connection to family ensures positive learning attitudes and children work with purpose and enjoyment throughout the school.

The school are able to be flexible with year group allocation for the right candidate and all classes are well supported by teaching assistants. Children attend the nursery part-time and the nursery team is run by qualified teachers with all staff ‘Early Years’ qualified. The school is located next door to the junior school with carefully managed automatic transfer.  The school also works closely with the Local Authority’s Sensory Support Service (located right by the school) with their hearing impaired students receiving specialist teaching in the provision as well as spending some of the day integrated into the mainstream school. The school celebrates the supported inclusion of their hearing impaired children and all children learn British Sign Language in school.

The school are hoping to find a talented teacher to work alongside the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership team, continuing to raise quality and standards to ensure all pupils reach their full potential.   • Hold QTS or equivalent
  • Have high expectations for student achievement
  • Understand how children learn best and have good behaviour management skills
  • Have experience and understanding of EYFS and KS1

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
