Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a small primary provision in the Newcastle area, to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis commencing after the February half term 2019.
The role is based in an attached specialist provision for students with Autism of varying severities aged between 5 and 11. The school has a strong focus on individual social, emotional and physical development; you will be working closely to assist students in reaching achievable goals and targets through planning activities according to the level the student is working at. You will be strongly supported by other teaching assistants as well as the class teacher, who will work with the successful candidate to plan and carry out small group sessions. The candidate will also have the opportunity to assist in lunchtime clubs and nurture/social skills clubs for the children.
Candidates with experience working with Autism are encouraged to apply, however we welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds including youth work and the forces. You will be dedicated to providing outstanding support and have a passion for working with young people.
Through Teaching Personnel's CPD academy we can also support your professional development with our online training courses and upcoming Team Teach courses, which would benefit you highly in this role. Our Team of SEN Specialist consultants can enrol you onto your desired courses and provide continued guidance throughout your employment for those with a keen interest in making a difference to young people's education.
Teaching Personnel can offer teaching assistant's competitive pay rates of £270 - £350 per week, for the right candidate longer term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. Teaching Personnel work with a large number of SEN schools across the UK, if you are interested in registering to work through Teaching Personnel for full time or part time work or to gain SEN experience please call us today for a confidential chat to learn more.
