Job Title: Full-Time Humanities Teacher Location: Minehead Mainstream Secondary School Start Date: 1st September 2024

Role Overview: As a Humanities Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach a diverse range of subjects that explore various aspects of human society, history, geography, and culture. You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of the past, present, and future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across different areas of Humanities, including History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Social Sciences.
  • Cover topics such as world civilizations, environmental issues, cultural diversity, and ethical dilemmas, fostering critical thinking and empathy among students.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methodologies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to express their ideas, challenge assumptions, and explore new perspectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities within the Humanities department.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Secondary Humanities Teacher status (QTS or equivalent), with expertise in teaching subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Studies, or Social Sciences.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for exploring the complexities of human society and culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to promoting critical thinking, empathy, and global awareness among students.
  • Willingness to undergo vetting procedures conducted by Teaching Personnel.
