HLTA - Leeds

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an experience HLTA to join the busy team of a school based in Middleton, Leeds. The school is easily accessible by public transport from Leeds, Wakefield and surrounding areas. The role is full time and, if successful, would turn into a permanent contract directly with the school after a probationary period.

The school is an Alternative Provision that caters to students with EHCP statements of Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues across Key Stages 2 - 4. The students come from complex, deprived and sometimes very traumatic backgrounds and are extremely vulnerable. They tend to be quite disengaged from their education and display challenging behaviour. We are looking for someone who holds the Team Teach training so that they can effectively manage behaviour.

The school is part of a Multi-Academy Trust and has just this year been built Millions of pounds has gone into the building of the school so that the needs of the students are completely catered to. Facilities include state of the art technology, a gym and an outdoor play area.

This role can be very challenging so we need someone who can be resilient yet nurturing, adopting a therapeutic and positive behaviour support approach.
