HLTA Higher Level Teaching Assistant

One of our partner Primary schools located on the East side of Cardiff are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to their team in order to cover teachers' PPA time throughout all classes except for Early Years (Year 1 to Year 6).

The role will essentially consist in delivering lessons as planned by the class teacher during their PPA time (Planning & Preparation). You will be working throughout both Infants and Juniors departments and therefore have the opportunity to experience most year groups and get to know most of the pupils/staff in the school.

This is a full time position (Monday to Friday) working school hours (8:30am to 3:30pm) term time only. The school are looking to appoint from the start of January, initially until the end of March with the opportunity to lead to a permanent contract thereafter for the right candidate.

Applicants must :

- Hold an education related qualification (minimum of CACHE Level 3).
- Have previous experience working in a school, as a HLTA, cover supervisor, teaching assistant or learning support assistant. Please note we also strongly recommend qualified teacher who are looking for less responsibilities to apply.
- Have the ability to adapt to different year groups and manage expectations
- Be flexible and open to change when needed (covering last minute absences, etc.)
- Be confident enough to manage difficult behaviour accordingly
- Be a caring, reliable, resilient and passionate individual
