History teacher (Rushden)

We are currently recruiting a teacher of History for one of our client Secondary Schools based in the Rushden area. Members of Senior Leadership would like to meet with teachers who are capable of delivering History to KS3 and KS4 students on a full time basis. This role is expected to last for the full academic year (finishing July 2020), however there could be the opportunity of a permanent contract for a candidate who is able to enhance the learning of students and raise attainment.

Key information:

  • Full-time History teacher required to start in September 2019
  • 12 month temporary position on offer
  • Competitive pay in line with MPS/UPS pay scale (£23,720 - £39,406)
  • The opportunity to teach KS5 History
  • NQT's encouraged to apply for this role

Our client school is part of a successful and expanding Multi Academy Trust which was ranked 5th across all Multi Academy Trusts nationally in 2017 in terms of student progress. History is a very popular subject among GCSE and A Level that regularly achieves exam results above the national average. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, inspirational and highly motivated professional to play a key part in a creative subject. You will be responsible for promoting the subject throughout the school and must understand the strategies required to motivate and inspire students.

The successful candidate would join the Humanities department and work with the team to drive up standards. There are currently three full-time teachers in the History Faculty, and the school are proud of the open, supportive and collaborative approach. There are currently three GCSE groups in Year 10 and three GCSE classes in Year 11. The Department is seeking a creative, passionate and energetic teacher who can work with them as they strive to secure better progress for learners.
