A co-educational secondary school located in the south of the Warrington LEA is looking to recruit a part time History teacher to start with them in January. This is an open vacancy within this highly reputable secondary school joining a successful Humanities department. The successful History teacher should be experienced at teaching up to GCSE level with applications being encouraged from newly qualified teachers and those of more experience. The successful Historian is required for a 0.6; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Head of Humanities is looking for a passionate History teacher to join this large department encompassing History, Geography and Religious Education. Teaching high quality lessons is of the utmost importance, ensuring students are engaged at all levels and stretched and challenged accordingly. The appointed History teacher should therefore be an excellent classroom practitioner, able to teach dynamic lessons and consider themselves a specialist with relevant experience. As this school is a school of choice, it is oversubscribed being a popular choice with pupils and parents alike.

Highlights of this History teaching position:

  • Pay will be dependent upon experience and in line with payscale: GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 (pro rata for part time)
  • Applications are encouraged from teachers of all experience levels: NQTS and more experienced teachers
  • Part time History teaching position starting on Tuesday 7th January 2020: 0.6 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
  • Highly regarded secondary school in the south of the Warrington area
  • Large and highly supportive Humanities department with separate strands in History, Geography and RE

The school is located in the south of Warrington making it very easy to access for all teachers. The local train station is a short distance away from this school making it very easy to commute to for any History teachers on public transport. The M6 (and M62) are also very closeby, making it very easy to get to for any teacher travelling from surrounding areas including Liverpool, Wigan and Manchester.

The school is part of a reputable trust of schools within the area which prides itself on providing the best education to students. Students are engaged with school life and are keen to learn with a thirst for knowledge and therefore behaviour is considered of a high standard. The school are looking for a Historian that can uphold these high standards and teach engaging lessons.
