History Teacher

Location:  Walsall

Start Date: September 2025 

Salary: Competitive – MPS/UPS, depending on experience


About the role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join our dedicated humanities department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students and bring the past to life through engaging and thought-provoking lessons.

Role Responsibilites: 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. 

  • Develop schemes of work that align with the national curriculum and promote critical thinking and historical enquiry.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to support academic development.

  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

  • Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities or trips.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the humanities faculty to ensure high standards and consistency in teaching.

  • Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge and participate in professional development opportunities.

Role Requirements: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related subject.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for history and education.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and whole-school events.
