Higher Level Teaching Assistant – September 2025 Start
Penzance and Surrounding Areas, Cornwall
Full-time and Part-time Opportunities Available
£110 – £120 per day (paid weekly)
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting fully qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Penzance and the surrounding areas from September 2025.
A number of local primary and secondary schools are still seeking to secure skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support learning in the classroom and provide cover when needed. Both short-term and long-term positions are available.
Your Role Will Include:

Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
-
Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups
-
Assisting with planning and assessment when required
-
Supporting behaviour management and classroom routines
-
Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
What You Will Need:
-
A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
-
Prior experience working in a school or educational setting
-
Confidence leading whole-class and small-group teaching
-
A flexible, professional, and proactive approach to your work
-
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
