Due to exciting expansion opportunities, an SEMH Provision, have openings for HLTAs to work with a small group of children with a range of SEMH specific needs. There will be up to 6 pupils aged between 7 and 16 years old and the successful candidate will require experience of supporting children throughout these age ranges. The SEMH HLTA role, will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of learning including: resourcing, planning, assessing and general operations under the supervision of a lead teacher, SENDCO and school SLT.
You will be involved in:
- Providing quality teaching and learning within a bespoke timetable of learning and pastoral activities for children with a range of SEMH needs.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies
- Organising and delivering intervention support for students with SEMH needs
- Working within the SEMH unit and wider school to provide support with resources and learning strategies
- This will include teaching effectiveness, working closely with students, parents/carers, other staff (eg teaching staff) and external agencies to identify, assess and plan to meet the needs of students requiring support
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience of supporting a range of SEMH and Primary age children
- HLTA status and experience of leading whole class delivery
- Understanding of systems that assess students, identify SEMH needs and review students’ progress
- Proven ability to adapt rapidly to change, use initiative and be proactive in the pursuit of obtaining children’s well-being and academic targets
