A highly reputable Multi-Academy Trust is seeking an outstanding Head of Maths to join the permanent staff team of a GOOD school in Bristol from April 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious mathematics leader to drive excellence in teaching and learning within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role:

The successful candidate will lead the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching, curriculum innovation, and student outcomes. They will be responsible for developing a culture of academic success, inspiring both staff and students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and management of the Maths department
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning, and student progress
• Develop and implement an engaging and challenging maths curriculum
• Lead, support, and develop a team of dedicated maths teachers
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and interventions
• Foster a love of mathematics across all key stages
• Ensure high standards of student behaviour, engagement, and attainment
• Collaborate with senior leadership and contribute to whole-school improvement

Person Specification:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in mathematics or a related subject
• Proven experience in leading or managing a successful Maths department
• A track record of improving student outcomes at KS3, KS4, and preferably KS5
• Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop both students and staff
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and aspirational learning environment
