Daily Rate: £120 per day

Pay: Weekly via PAYE (No Umbrella Fees)

Hours: Monday to Friday / 08:15 - 15:00 / Full-Time for the academic year

We are currently recruiting Behaviour & Learning Mentors to work within supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Cardiff, supporting pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4.

About the Role

As a Behaviour & Learning Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both emotionally and academically.

You will support young people with:

• Emotional wellbeing and mental health
• Behaviour, self-regulation, and resilience
• Engagement, confidence, and academic progress

You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCo teams, and pastoral staff to deliver tailored, impactful support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs
• Support behaviour and learning intervention plans
• Encourage positive behaviour, focus, and emotional regulation
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Collaborate with staff and families to support student progress

What We’re Looking For

• Psychology, Criminology, or related degree (studying or completed)
• Passion for mental health, education, and child development
• Strong communication and emotional intelligence
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability
• Experience with young people is desirable but not essential (full training provided)

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS (on Update Service or willingness to apply)
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Two recent professional references
• Up-to-date CV
• Safeguarding training (provided)
