We’re recruiting for Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor positions across Secondary schools in Salford – ideal for graduates who are passionate about education and keen to explore a career working with young people.

About the Roles

Teaching Assistant (TA): As a TA, you will support students in and out of the classroom, helping them access learning and stay engaged. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Working one-to-one or with small groups to reinforce lesson content
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and preparation
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and participation

Cover Supervisor: As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in to lead lessons when teachers are absent. You won’t be expected to plan lessons, but you will need to manage the classroom and ensure students stay on task. Duties include:

  • Delivering pre-set work to classes across different subjects
  • Managing behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
  • Reporting back on student progress and any issues
  • Gaining valuable leadership experience in a school setting

  • Recent graduates from any subject background
  • Confident communicators with a proactive attitude
  • Passionate about education and working with young people
  • Local to Salford or able to commute

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
