Job description

Exam Invigilators – Secondary Schools (Salford, Bolton & Bury)
Flexible, part-time (seasonal)
Mock exams before and after Christmas; GCSEs in Summer 2026

Secondary schools across Salford, Bolton and Bury are seeking reliable and professional Exam Invigilators to support the smooth running of examinations. This is a vital role to ensure that exams are conducted in line with regulations, providing students with the best possible environment to succeed.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Supervising students in the examination room and ensuring exam conditions are maintained

  • Distributing and collecting exam papers and materials

  • Providing clear instructions and guidance to students before and during exams

  • Ensuring compliance with exam regulations and reporting any issues in line with procedures

  • Assisting with the set-up and tidying of exam rooms as required

Person specification:

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times

  • Excellent communication and attention to detail

  • Ability to remain calm and authoritative in a formal setting

  • Flexible and available for exam sessions during the school day

  • Previous experience as an invigilator is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
