Job description

We're looking for confident, reliable individuals to support secondary schools across Oldham as Cover Supervisors.

The role is straightforward. When a teacher is absent, you'll take their class, make sure students stay on task with the work that's been set and keep the classroom running smoothly. You don't need to be a qualified teacher, but you do need to be someone who can hold a room, build rapport with young people and maintain high expectations.

We've seen people from all sorts of backgrounds do really well in these positions, including graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants and those considering a future career in teaching.

The schools we're working with are looking for people who are approachable, professional and able to create a positive atmosphere in the classroom. Every day can be different, so being adaptable and able to think on your feet is important.

Whether you're looking for full-time work, a route into teaching or simply a role where you can genuinely make a difference to young people, we'd love to hear from you.

Experience working with young people is beneficial, but a positive attitude and the right personality are often just as important.
