Job description

Cover Supervisors Needed – Secondary Schools Across Bury

Are you confident, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people in their education? We are looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in the Bury area.

About the role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task with the work set. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher – full training and support will be provided.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a classroom environment in the absence of the teacher

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials

  • Supporting pupils to stay focused and engaged in their learning

  • Promoting positive behaviour and a safe learning environment

We are looking for people who are:

  • Confident in managing groups of young people

  • Professional, flexible, and reliable

  • Strong communicators with a positive attitude

  • Interested in gaining experience in education (ideal for aspiring teachers or those considering a career in schools)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
