Graduate Cover Supervisor role
Teaching Personnel are currently working with the majority of schools across North Hampshire from Andover across to Farnborough and we are looking to recruit graduates with an interest in education and training to become a teacher. We are looking to find suitable roles for these graduates within secondary schools to allow them to gain a portfolio of experience and a strong reference to allow you to continue onto a PGCE, or to complete a SCITT at the school you have already been placed in.
We are currently working in schools in:
- Andover
- Basingstoke
- Winchester
- Fleet
- Farnborough
In previous years we have had a lot of success with this as it allows graduates to gain paid experience in education as well as allow them to trial teaching prior to undertaking an additional year at university. This work gives a realistic outlook on teaching to allow you to decide if it is the correct option for yourself.
These roles are excellent for graduates with a large amount of confidence and charisma, who are able to work in a flexible environment and think on their feet. You will be leading classes in subjects without necessarily having subject knowledge, this means you must be able to infer information and work to specifications to provide a lesson of cover for the students in your care using textbooks and instructions left by the head of department and class teacher.
We are currently working with schools providing graduates for multiple roles within their schools:
Permanent Cover Supervisor - A permanent role in a school where you will always work with them, this allows you to gain a lot of depth in the school and build excellent relationships with staff and pupils it is also a more secure form of income with guaranteed salary.
Cover supervisor on a flexible basis - You will be booked at a school in the eventuality that they will require cover Monday to Friday, the school will let us know in the morning if they will be requiring you to attend school as a cover supervisor leading the lessons which are not able to be taken by the usual classroom teacher. If the school do not require you for the day we will look to find you work in an alternative school local to yourself which will allow you to gain more experience due to different pupils, needs, policies and staff.
Day to day Cover - A very flexible cover supervisor who will work in multiple schools in the event that they need cover, these will be on odd days and up to a week in length usually. This will allow you to fit the work around your own lifestyle and will also give very varied work across multiple schools.
If any of these roles interest you then apply below and we will be in contact to discuss proceeding with the vetting process.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
