An exciting opportunity to gain secondary school experience at a large and oversubscribed academy for a full academic year before commencing a Teacher Training course.
- Full time internship at a secondary school (September 2020 – July 2021)
- Gain valuable experience before starting a PGCE
- Learn from and work alongside experienced professionals
- Large and popular academy a short drive from Oldham town centre
- Earn up to GBP1400 per month
This exciting and popular internship is part of the ‘Future Teachers’ programme which was introduced by Teaching Personnel to address the current shortage of teachers and we are currently looking to support graduates who are considering a career in teaching, by offering them opportunities to work in one of our large partner secondary schools in Oldham for the full academic year.
- Delivering tailored teaching activities to pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups
- Making sure that the pupils upported are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
- Supporting the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
- Supporting the teacher in managing challenging pupil behaviour and promoting positive behaviour
- Guiding and monitoring pupil progress
- Covering lessons in the absence of the main class teacher
Prospective candidates should have recently completed or due to complete a degree, with all subjects being considered. Graduates of core subjects including English, Maths and Science are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will join this popular academy in Oldham as a Teaching Assistant within the department of their specialism, gaining an insight into the role as a teacher. Upon the completion of the academic year, they will be supported on gaining a place on teacher training course which the school’s trust successfully deliver.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
