Pupil Intervention Worker – Alternative Provision (Liverpool)
Are you driven by the desire to help young people break down barriers to learning? Do you have the ability to connect with students who need a different approach to education?
An Alternative Provision school in Liverpool is seeking a Pupil Intervention Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role with strong potential to become permanent. You will be supporting students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and move forward positively in their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored interventions to help students re-engage with learning and achieve personal goals.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to target key areas for development.
- Support students in overcoming emotional, social, and behavioural barriers to learning.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to plan and implement effective intervention strategies.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working within alternative provision, SEN settings, PRUs, or similar educational environments.
- Background in mentoring, intervention work, or student support roles.
- Patient, resilient, and empathetic, with a real passion for helping young people thrive.
- Strong relationship-building skills, able to motivate and encourage disengaged learners.
- Knowledge of SEMH needs, SEN support, and behaviour management strategies is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
