A single gendered secondary school in the Tameside area is looking for a motivated and confident graduate to start with them in September 2018. The school are looking for a graduate who is looking to pursue a career in the education sector as a Teaching Assistant or future teacher.

The successful graduate can be of any subject but have proven experience of supporting/working with secondary school aged students.

This Teaching Assistant role entails:

  • Working as a general classroom assistant supporting students that require additional help with work being taught and following the lead of the subject teacher
  • Depending on prior experience, working with students exhibiting challenging behaviour or specific educational needs
  • Supporting the Special Educational Needs co-ordinator (SENCo) where required
  • General classroom assistant and leading small groups of students providing intervention

The school are looking for a confident graduate that can take direction and provide the support that the students in this single sex secondary school, require. The school is proud of it's supportive nature and is willing to support any graduate with specific work and learning they require.

For any future teachers this role would be highly suitable as you will gain relevant experience of working within a secondary school environment, having the opportunity to lead small groups of students. The networking opportunities available are great working alongside teachers of all subjects and of varying experience.

The role would suit a graduate who is:

  • Looking for further experience working within a secondary school environment
  • Already has some experience supporting or working with students aged 11 - 16
  • Looking to potentially embark on a PGCE in the future as a future teacher

This is paid supporting position in a Tameside based secondary school where the graduate will be paid between £55 and £70 depending on experience.
