Graduate PE Teaching Assistant

PE/Sports graduates are required from September 2020 to join our Graduate Teacher Internship programme.  Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with secondary schools across Manchester to recruit PE/Sport graduates that are seeking experience before starting a teacher training programme. Role: Full-time PE Graduate Teacher Internship

Location: Salford

Requirements:

  • A degree in PE/Sports Coaching/Sports Development or a related subject.
  • A passion for working alongside young people.
  • Future aspirations to become a full time PE Teacher.

From: September 2020 start for one academic year.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Learning how to plan, deliver and assess lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Working on a theoretical basis with GCSE students, as well as devising and delivering practical lessons.
  • Managing school sports teams in matches against other schools.
  • Supporting full time members of teaching staff in developing adequate learning material and resources for lessons.
  • Shadowing full time teaching staff, enabling the applicant to gain quality training related to the development of overall teaching style/pedaogy.
  • Gain invaluable experience, and support onto a future teacher training programme (2021)
  • Opportunity to work with children across a wide range of ages and abilities.
  • Learn about key day to day factors that affect a school.

The internship will see the applicant take on the following roles:

  • Cover Supervisor - covering lessons due to staff absences.
  • Teaching Assistant - working with students with SEN, as well as those who require EAL support.
  • General support - helping students tackle work set in PE, implementing stategies designed to ensure every child is able to maximise thier overall ability within the subject.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
