A school in Tameside is looking for a Graduate Maths Teacher to join the staff on a temporary basis. This position presents itself as the ideal opportunity for an individual who is looking to enter the education sector, and wants to gain invaluable secondary school experience, before potentially enrolling onto a PGCE or related course.
The course allows applicants to:
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the daily day to day factors that will affect a school.
 - Work with children across a wide range of ages and abilities.
 - Being able to directly shadow full time members of the teaching staff, gaining further knowledge with regards to overall teaching delivery.
 
Applicants for this position will:
- Be educated to degree level, preferably in Maths or a related subject.
 - Have an in depth knowledge of Maths syllabus to KS4.
 - Have previous experience working within a school, or has worked with young people in another capacity previously.
 - Have the required attributes to begin a career within the field of teaching.
 
Examples of some of the roles in which the applicant will be involved in are:
- Intervention Tutor - offering consistent support and guidance to students with regards to Maths work set, and being able to encourage and enhance overall student attainment.
 - Cover Supervisor – covering when there is a staff absence, being able to ensure that students are completing work set as expected.
 - Teaching Assistant – working with students who require additional help, and being able to offer consistent support and guidance when necessary.
 
Additionally:
- Chance to work with pupils with SEN and specific EAL needs.
 - Opportunity to deliver own lesssons, gaining invaluable classroom experience.
 - The required applicant will produce educational material and resources that are relevant and beneficial to students.
 - Offer support to teaching staff in lessons, considering day to day factors that require monitoring e.g behaviour management.
 - Work 1:1 with children requiring additional support.
 
This Graduate position will be on a full time basis, and will run for the full academic year.
- Located close to Manchester city centre, the school is easily accessible owing to the many public transport links in close proximity.
 - There are motorway links close by for those that drive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
