A co-educational secondary school is keen to recruit and appoint a number of astute graduates to start with them on a Graduate Teacher Internship in September at the beginning of the academic year. The successful graduates should have experience of working with young people or have an active interest in the education sector looking to become a teacher in the future.
The Headteacher said of the positions available:
“I am keen to appoint a graduate TA to work mostly within our SEN Department but with a wider whole school literacy intervention and Year 7 catch up remit. The likely successful candidate could be a graduate in any discipline and will receive appropriate high quality training to deliver successful intervention. Whilst I am keen to recruit one graduate, there are multiple options for a number of applicable candidates.”
As can be seen above, the school are keen to secure a number of graduates to support within their school. This school is located in the Chorlton area of South Manchester making it very easy to access for any graduates that live in the nearby areas of Whalley Range, Fallowfield, Didsbury and Stretford.
Highlights of this Graduate Teacher Internship role:
- Support as a Teaching Assistant at this highly supportive secondary school located in Chorlton
- Provide Literacy intervention and tuition to students; working with year 7s who have just transitioned into the school from primary school
- This will be particularly important given that the transition process will have been delayed and not as in depth as usual
- Graduates of any degree discipline are encouraged to apply
- Pay will be dependent upon experience but potential to earn up to GBP1325 per month
- Secure work for the full academic year 2020 - 2021
Teaching Personnel’s Internship programme is very applicable and relevant for recent graduates looking to secure work within a secondary school setting. There is the opportunity to secure work for a year where you will gain experience working in the school environment. You would then progress onto a school contract and have the potential to earn a place on a school centred direct teaching training programme where you become a qualified teacher following teaching placements direct with the school(s). This is a highly sought after route for prospective teachers and a fantastic opportunity for confident and motivated graduates.
